'Call me by your name', Drama/Romance, direcção por Luca Guadagnino, música brilhantemente composta por Sufjan Stevens.

Para quem não conhece Luca Guadagnino, é director, produtor e roteirista de cinema italiano, sendo 'Lo sono l'amore', 'A Bigger Splash' e 'Call me by your name' três dos seus filmes mais conhecidos, embora façam parte da sua filmografia inúmeros documentários, curtas-metragens e outros.

'Call me by your name' é o terceiro e último ato da trilogia "Desire" de Guadagnino, seguido de 'I Am Love' e 'A Bigger Splash'. Tendo como cenário o norte da Itália em 1983, centra-se no romance entre Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet), um adolescente de 17 anos e o assistente académico Oliver (Armie Hammer), de origem americana, fazendo mostra de um Amor e sentimento maior, por pessoas do mesmo sexo, a aceitação por parte de pais atentos, as experiências joviais, o amor à música e paisagens fabulosas. 

O filme recebeu aclamação unânime, com elogios particulares à direcção, música e performances, além de ser considerado como um dos 10 melhores filmes do ano pelo National Board of Review e American Film Institute. Na 75ª edição da Premiação do Globo de Ouro, foi nomeado como Melhor Filme Dramático, Melhor Actor em Filme Dramático para Timothée Chalamet, e Melhor Actor Coadjuvante para Armie Hammer. Na 24ª edição da Premiação Screen Actors Guild, foi nomeado para Melhor Performance de Actor Principal para Chalamet.

Na minha modesta opinião, é um filmaço genial!! Vale tudo a pena, e embora tenha duração de duas horas e doze minutos, não se dá pelo tempo passar, prende-nos do inicio ao fim!

'Mr. Perlman: You too had a nice friendship.

Elio: Yeah...

Mr. Perlman: You're too smart not to know how rare, how special, what you two had was.

Elio: Oliver was Oliver.

Mr. Perlman: Parce-que c'etait lui, parce-que c'etait moi.

Elio: Oliver may be very intelligent but...

Mr. Perlman: Ah... he was more than intelligent. What you two had, had everything and nothing to do with intelligence. He was good, and you were both lucky to have found each other, because... you too are good.

Elio: I think he was better than mine, I think he was better than me.

Mr. Perlman: I'm sure he'd say the same thing about you, which flatters you both.'

Mr. Perlman: Nature has cunning ways of finding our weakest spot. Just remember I'm here.

Mr. Perlman: (...) We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster than we should that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to feel nothing so as not to feel anything - what a waste!

Mr. Perlman: Then I'll say one more thing. It'll clear the air. I may have come close, but I never had what you two have. Something always held me back or stood in the way. How you live your life is your business, just remember, our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once. And before you know it, your heart is worn out, and, as for your body, there comes a point when no one looks at it, much less wants to come near it. Right now, there's sorrow, pain. Don't kill it and with it the joy you've felt.'
